NEW FOR 2008!
The RAF Beech King Air - a new display for 2008, the King Air is an exciting addition to the RAF portfolio of events and promises to demonstrate the manoeuvrability of this twin engined training aircraft. The King Air will only be participating at a handful of events this year and Southport is one of the lucky few!
The Red Arrows
The Red Arrows will be appearing on both Saturday and Sunday.
Their first authorised flight with 9 aircraft was on the 8th July 1966. They have flown over 4,000 displays in 52 countries, 6 of the 12 aircraft currently used have been used every year since 1980.

Typhoon
Extremely agile, the Typhoon can sustain 9G and regularly operates upto 55,000 feet. Ground breaking Human machine Interface including voice activation control and sensor Fusion technology. With cutting edge technology built under a four nation partnership of the UK, Germany, Spain and Italy.
The Hawk
In the current RAF training programme, the Hawk T1 is the first jet aircraft that a student pilot will fly. An advanced and very successful trainer, the Hawk is used to teach operational tactics, air-to-air and air-to-ground firing, air combat and low-level operating procedures.
The Black Cats Lynx Helicopter Display
The team formed in 2001 and comprises of two Lynx Helicopters. Crews are selected from the instructors of 702 Naval Air Squadron to fly in the display and remain permanent for the season to keep continuity. They have been a fixture on the Airshow circuit since 2003 and their display features high speed crosses, close formation work and opposing manoeuvres.

The Blades Aerobatic Team
The UK's hottest formation display team and the world's only globally accredited aerobatic airline; The Blades, are preparing of take the country by storm for the third year running.
The Team fly the outstanding, high performance 2-seat Extra 300 LPs, turning harder and tighter than anyone else, making their award winning 12 minute display a breathtaking collection of opposition passes, gyroscopic tumbles and close formation manoeuvres that have never before been seen.

Model Aeroplanes
The Southport Model Aero club, as in true air show tradition will be bringing along the finest model aeroplanes. Be surprised by the agility of these amazingly detailed and high performance models flying from 10.00hrs to 12.00hrs (these times are approximate and may be subject to slight change).
