Sefton Natural Coast > Welcome to Sefton's Natural Coast
Sefton's Natural Coast is the perfect setting for those who want to get away from it all and explore. Stretching out over 22 miles this unique and tranquil coastline in the North West of England comprises beautiful beaches, sand dunes, woodland and farmland and is a haven for flora and fauna.
Near to Liverpool, Sefton's Natural Coast is an area of open space and tranquillity close to the popular towns of Crosby, Formby and Ainsdale along with Southport, England's Classic Resort.
Each year thousands of people visit the beautiful coast and countryside for a family day out or quiet walk. Wherever you are in Sefton you are never far from nature and wildlife co-existing with visitor facilities.
Coastal activities range from walking and cycling to a variety of events which reflect the 'specialness' of our coast and countryside sites in one way or another. Or why not use the Formby Point Audio Guides to explore the area which are now available.
A spectacular addition to the coastline is the sculpture by Angel of the North artist Antony Gormley, which is on view on Crosby beach. 'Another Place' consists of 100 cast-iron, life-size figures spread out along three kilometres of the foreshore, stretching almost one kilometre out to sea.
With so much to see and do, there is something for everyone and getting to Sefton's Natural Coast is very easy to reach from the urban centres of Liverpool and Preston whether by car or public transport.
