Sefton's Natural Coast
Located in the North West of England, near Liverpool, Sefton's Natural Coast is an area of open space and tranquillity close to the popular towns of Crosby, Formby, Ainsdale and Southport, England's Classic Resort.
Sefton's Natural Coast is the perfect setting for those who want to get away from it all and explore. Stretching out over 22 miles this unique and tranquil coastline comprises beautiful beaches, sand dunes, woodland and farmland and are a haven for flora and fauna.
Coastal activities range from walking and cycling to a variety of events which reflect the 'specialness' of our coast and countryside sites in one way or another. Over the next two years Sefton Coast Landscape Partnership Scheme will be organising and running a variety of activities and events, and will enhance the Sefton Coast for all, through a range of projects.
Each year thousands of people visit the beautiful coast and countryside for a family day out or quiet walk. Wherever you are in Sefton you are never far from nature and wildlife co-existing with visitor facilities.
The spectacular sculpture by Angel of the North artist Antony Gormley, is on view on Crosby beach. 'Another Place' consists of 100 cast-iron, life-size figures spread out along three kilometres of the foreshore, stretching almost one kilometre out to sea.
With so much to see and do, there is something for everyone and getting to Sefton's Natural Coast is very easy to reach from the urban centres of Liverpool and Preston whether by car or public transport.
