23rd Jun 2012-23rd Jun 2012Coastal Activities
Walking and cycling are probably the easiest and most beneficial activities you can be involved in. You can do them at your own pace, leisurely or brisk, and you need very little equipment; they can also be done on your own or with friends. Just 30 minutes of moderate exercise five days per week will half the risk of developing coronary heart disease.
All of the suggested footpaths, trails, tracks and dedicated cycle ways around Seftons Natural Coast are detailed without let or hindrance as public rights of way, or as permissive paths with the consent of the respective landowners. There are also numerous coastal events taking place for all to enjoy.
Please REMEMBER the Countryside Code and leave everything as you find it, leaving only footprints or bicycle tracks behind. Remember, picking wild flowers or disturbing wild birds is highly illegal.
It's good to be outside, but remember to take a bit of care! REMEMBER a sunny day in Britain can be just as dangerous for your skin as going abroad. Always follow the Sun Safe Code.
