Some of our Event Highlights

What's On

Archaeological Dig, Formby, 20-27th June 2012

More information to follow shortly, but this will be a week long dig at Formby.  Everybody is welcome to come and have a go, but schools will need to book with us.  We will create a webpage and a blog shortly.

Ship Wreck Walk, Saturday 19th May 2012

A chance for you to find out about a couple of ships that found Ainsdale Beach their final resting place, including the 'Star of Hope'. Take look at the display in the Discovery Centre before the walk and help us with our craft projects.  The event is weather dependant. The walk to the wreck will take approximately 45 minute across the sands with no shelter, so appropriate clothing and footwear must be worn.

The Discovery Centre will be open from 2pm and the walk starts at 3.15pm. Contact us to reserve a place. Click here for more information.

Prehistoric Footprint Walk, Saturday 26th May 2012

This event is one of the regular walks looking for prehistoric footprints.  It is aimed at volunteers or potential volunteers for our community archaeology projects, but all are welcome.  Click here to find out about what was seen on the last walks.

Our next walk is on Saturday 26th May 2012 at 10.30am, meet at the notice boards, opposite the toilets at National Trust, Victoria Road, Formby.

For details of all our footprint walks click here.
