Heritage Open Days - Ince Bundell Hall

Ince Blundell Hall

Ince Blundell Hall will be providing a tour of the ground floor, Pantheon, Temple and grounds during Heritage Open Days. A talk by a local professional historian will be given during the tour.

Ince Blundell hall is listed Grade 2, built 1720-1750. The Garden Temple listed Grade 2, built 1780. The Pantheon listed Grade 2, built 1802 – 1810.

Grounds landscaped in 1770's according to ideas of Richard Wilson and 'Capability' Brown: Lake, vistas, arboretum, ha-ha, unique 'romantic' parkland in this region. Nationally important.

Walk of Deer Park remains, 2 ¼ miles.

The tour is of the Rococo + Victorian rooms on the ground floor.

* Tours are timed to take place on each day as follows:

Tour 1 - 11:15am to 12:15pm
Tour 2 - 13:45pm to 14:45pm
Tour 3 - 15:00pm to 16:00pm

Note: As it is a nursing home the first floor and second floor (patients rooms) are closed to public.

Road Directions

From South A565 to sign "Ince Blundell Convalescent Home"
From North, turn through Ince Blundell village to sign for Ince Blundell Hall.

Public Transport Directions

From A565, use bus 48, stopping at "The Round House", walk through house gates to Ince Blundell Hall.

Railway Station Hall Road (Liverpool to Southport).

 Facilities

  • All Areas Accessible to Disabled Visitors - Two ramps suitable for wheelchair users access the font door – disabled toilet in front hall.
  • Booking essential - Please ring Sister Laura with numbers on 0151 929 2596. Not more than 25 persons per tour of the ground floor from conservatory to Parish Church/ former family Chapel.
