As part of Heritage Open days visit Old Christ Church, Waterloo.
Redundant church, listed Grade II and looked after by the Churches Conservation Trust with help from the Friends of Old Christ Church.
Built between 1891 and 1899 to the design of Austin & Paley of Preston, described by Pevsner as' the best firm of Gothicists in the north of England.
The church is open FREE to the public on Saturday and Sunday 13th and 14th September with a displays and demonstrations of traditional rural crafts.
Groups are able to view the church on other days by arrangement - phone 0151 924 5738.
Drinks and light refreshments will be available on the 13th and 14th September.
Note: Access to the tower is NOT available.
If travelling from Liverpool or from the motorways, turn left after the fly-over at Seaforth Docks, then turn 1st right into Waterloo Road.
If travelling from Crosby, turn left at Crosby Police Station into Alexandra Road.
Waterloo Rail Station on the Northern Line is a short walk (600 yds) away.
