Michael Rosen

Poet, performer, broadcaster and scriptwriter Michael Rosen is one of the world’s best-known figures in the world of children’s literature. Come along and see this one man show, best described as a mix between a poetry reading and stand up comedy!

Michael Rosen was appointed the fifth children’s laureate in June 07 and is one of the best-known figures in the world of children’s literature. He wrote his first book in 1969, a play called Backbone and his first children’s book in 1974, a book of poems called Mind Your Own Business and since then, he has never looked back!

As an author and editor Rosen has been involved in the publication of over 140 books. He teaches children’s literature at universities and is a familiar voice to BBC listeners through his programme Word of Mouth.
