By Train:

Ainsdale Station is on the Mersesyrail line between Southport and Liverpool. Arrivals to Ainsdale from Southport exit platform and cross the railway line. Arrivals from Liverpool exit platform and turn left.

Heading away from Ainsdale village, immediately past the station car park turn left onto Mossgiel Avenue. At the end of Mossgiel Avenue enter a footpath, passing through an underpass. Follow the footpath past the back of a school, carry straight on at footpath junction, and continue on dune path running parallel to railway line. After 10 minutes pass through a second underpass and enter the NNR. Cross field and follow drive to reserve office.
