Horse Racing

The race lasts 10 minutes; the experience lasts a life time.

For a few brief moments each year in April, the world's most famous racecourse runs the world's most famous race, The John Smith's Grand National.

Following on from a £35 million redevelopment project, Aintree now has two new Grandstands (The Earl of Derby and The Lord Sefton Stands), a new Parade Ring and Winners Enclosure and the fantastic Aintree Pavilion offering a first class racing experience for the 21st century spectator.

When not staging the world’s most famous horse race, Aintree hosts an additional four racedays a year, and as well as being a successful conference and events venue, Aintree houses the longest nine-hole golf course in the country nestled within the Grand National course, a true test for any golfer. Visitors eager to sample the magic of Aintree and the Grand National meeting at any other time of the year can do so by visiting Aintree’s visitor centre, open May- October.
