The museum and gallery are home to a collection of over 3,500 artworks, and over 25,000 pieces of social history (displayed on rotation). 

On sunny days, take a picnic to King’s Gardens. It’s full of beautiful Victorian architecture, with its Grade II listed shelters and ornate Venetian Bridge. If you’re feeling competitive you can enjoy a spot of crazy golf while you’re there. Or Marine Lake is a brilliant place for family fun. Hire a pedalo if you’re keen to get your legs moving, or maybe a power boat if you’re feeling like a thrill – messing about on the lake is always fun in spring and summer.

If water sports are your thing, spend an afternoon at Crosby Lakeside Adventure Centre, where there’s sailing and wild swimming. Or check out Southport’s Splash World. A place for all the family to have fun, whatever the weather.

No seaside is complete without a Model Railway Village to explore. Watch the model trains chug around the miniature world and weave between the little buildings. If you’re into a bit of British history, you can also check out Southport’s British Lawnmower Museum.
