Traffic and Travel

When planning your journey to the Southport Air Show allow plenty of time for your journey. The gates open at 9am and we advise you get to the show for as close to this time as possible.

On your journey to the Southport Air Show you can tune into our dedicated Air Show Radio (frequency to be confirmed) -  this will keep you updated with traffic news. You can also tune in during the air show for commentary on each air display, interviews and great music.

Plenty of entertainment...

If you arrive early there is plenty to do in the town centre and once you have your wristband you can come and go as you please. Or why not head over to the Air Show Village where you can see the military who will have a Typhoon on the ground, a diving water tank, a climbing wall and much more.

Or pop over to the beach and you can have a look at the Living Museum where people are dressed up as soldiers and have equipment - you can see what life was like in the trenches. Or have a go at the mini tanks! There is plenty to keep the little ones entertained.

Travelling by train

Northern Rail and Merseyrail operate frequent trains to Southport. The nearest train station is Southport, about a 10 minute walk from the event site.

Travelling home

If you have parked on the beach then don’t worry, you can leave your car with ease knowing that the tide will not come in – the Southport Air Show is orgased around low tide so your car is perfectly safe.

A few ideas of things you can do to delay your journey include...
