Welcome to Southport

Different Everytime

Hooray – welcome back!

Southport is open. We’ve missed you! Our museums and galleries are starting to open. Our bars, restaurants and shops haven’t been the same without you.

Summer’s here, it’s just a bit closer to home this year. You can now enjoy many of your favourite things to see and do in Southport again, let’s explore together…

We're so happy to see you again...

For a bit of fun outdoors why not grab a picnic and head to Kings Gardens on the Southport Promenade with its beautiful Grade II listed shelters, ornate Venetian Bridge, it is the perfect place to unwind.

Or for something a little more fast paced, have a go at the  crazy golf while you’re there. Or you can enjoy a socially distanced ride on our pedalos or motorboats in Marine Lake.

You can also visit some of your favourite attractions: Pleasureland Theme Park is open, offering unlimited rides all day with a single admission price.

Just make sure to book online before your visit.

We're so happy to hear you again...

Southport is packed full of wide open spaces that you can safely enjoy. Lovely Parks and Gardens for a quiet moment, or to let your little ones let off steam!

Blow away those lockdown cobwebs with a stroll along our beautiful Iron Pier with views right out to sea.

There’s plenty of room for walking and cycling while keeping social distance in Southport. Remember to be safe on public transport. There’s also plenty of parking in and around Southport.

Lose yourself in our sand dunes or watch the glowing sunset on the stunning beaches of Crosby, Formby, Ainsdale (named as one of Britain’s 50 Best Beaches for 2020 by The Times), or the rest of our 22 miles of coast.

But please, leave only footprints in the sand and take your rubbish home with you, lets respect our wonderful space and keep it clean.

We are so happy to feed you again...

Don’t forget, there’s plenty more to do indoors when you visit Southport. Many of our wonderful food and drink venues are open, and eager to welcome you back.

All businesses have put in place extra measures to keep you safe while you enjoy dining, indoors or al fresco, in Southport.

You can eat out to help out each Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday in August - enjoy local produce and relax in Southport.

There’s lots of lovely accommodation in Southport for you to safely lay your head after a busy day enjoying the seaside. Plus if you book direct with us, your deposit goes back to helping us tell the world how beautiful Southport is.

Our hoteliers are working hard to put measures in place to keep you safe when you visit. We all need some happy time with our loved ones this summer.

Make it a staycation!

Southport is the perfect seaside town to relax, unwind and enjoy yourselves. And if you fancy the excitement of the city, both Liverpool and Manchester are close by.

We cannot wait for you to visit, to see you, to hear you and to feed you – Welcome back!

Before your visit:

Remember that, just for now, we need you to keep social distancing while you are in Southport. There are plenty of signs around to help you. We’ve been working with local businesses to keep you safe when you visit Southport. You can do your bit too by keeping to small groups, keep social distancing and keep washing your hands.

Face coverings must be worn in enclosed public spaces in England from 24 July.

This includes shops, supermarkets, shopping centres, banks, building societies and post offices. It extends to train and bus stations and airports.

Customers must wear a face covering before entering any shop and must keep it on until they leave.

As our businesses continue to open, we recommend that you contact venues directly for details of their new operating procedures, which may include pre-booking, changed opening hours, smaller groups etc.

Let’s be kind, and keep each other safe in Southport.

We’re supporting local businesses and retailers to ensure our local economy continues to thrive. Please support your favourite local shops, pubs, restaurants and cafes.

The reopening of Southport's High Street safely is funded by the European Regional Development Fund and the UK Government.
