Autumn in Southport

From the end of September and into November the autumn landscapes in Southport quite literally take your breath away. Bright blue skies above Southport, leafy Lord Street as turns from a sea of green to fiery hues of orange and burnt browns fill the trees.

Morning

Southport is known for as England’s Golf Coast, and that’s because it’s has the highest concentration of championship links courses in the UK. Royal Birkdale Golf Club, the prestigious course, is the jewel in the crown of Southport’s golfing heritage and is widely regarded as the best links course in the England and is regular host to The Open Championship. But, we do have many more to offer too. A short drive away is Formby Hall Golf  Resort & Spa, start your day with a round of golf or a morning of pampering in the spa.

On your way back stop off in Birkdale Village where you can grab a spot of lunch, stop for a drink and do a bit of shopping in the local independents.


Lunch

Stroll down the second longest pier (Britain's oldest iron one) and look far out to the seas furthest point of the sea shore, which meets the sun perfectly relax into the afternoon.


After this why ot head back to your hotel for a little bit of chill time before heading out for the evening.


Evening

Nearby Churchtown Village is a tranquil way to spend the evening. With pretty thatched roof cottages, charming pubs and quaint restaurants you can have a perfect meal and a drink by a cosy fire.

Head back to Southport and enjoy a drink in many of the pubs and bars in Southport. Peaky Blinders is a bar which blends old with new, modern comfort with a 20’s twist inspired by the period TV series and ideal to end your evening.
