This weekend is the amazing Southport Air Show, launching on Friday 6th July with the Red Arrows, Southport is ready for a weekend of aviation fun.

The sun is predicted to shine so make sure you bring protection and make your way down to Southport beach for an amazing family weekend.

We have put together 10 things to do whilst you are here...

1. Watch the AWESOME Red Arrows open the show on Friday. The Friday Night will launch with the amazing display from the RAF Red Arrows at 19:30 – make sure you arrive early – it is going to be busy!

2. Pretend you are a Red Arrow in the flight simulator – check out what it would be like to fly in one of the jets, twisting and turning in the RAF simulator - the next best thing!

3. Try some paintballing in the Army Benevolent Fund paintball range on the beach. You can still catch the displays inbetween the fun!

4. Make sure you stay on the Friday Night for the firework finale – they have been designed and fired by the British Musical Fireworks ‘Champion of Champion’ winner last year – Sirotechnics!

5. Check out the Military Village where the Royal Navy and Royal Marines, British Army and the Royal Air Force are based. They have plenty of equipment for you to look at plus they have a Royal Marine demonstrating a diving tank!

6. Try a bit of land zorbing in between the air displays - good fun for the kids!

7. Watch out for beach explosions – the MiG-15 and the Vampires will re-enact a dog fight which is complete with beach explosions – a must see!

8. Catch the display from the Bristol Blenheim – as the only flying Blenheim in the world, this is a great tribute to the RAF 100 celebrations.

9. We have 69th Field Artillery Guns firing throughout the Southport Air Show – they will sound amazing! Watch out for them, they will create an amazing atmosphere!

10. Cover your ears as the MIGHTY Typhoon closes the show on Sunday – the noise is incredible and the display is most certainly unforgettable!
