This year's Southport Air Show launches on Friday with the AWESOME RAF Red Arrows opening the show on 19:30 when they soar across the Southport sky.

Performing their aerobatics the Red Arrows will wow the audience, especially when they patriotically have their red, white and blue smoke.

After the Red Arrows the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will display - a tribute to the RAF 100!

The Blades & P-51 Mustang will follow before the short interval where visitors can have a look around the Air Show or Military Village, or head over the sea wall to the beach where there are plenty of attractions.

After the interval the Tigers Army Parachute Display Team will drop from the sky with pyros on their feet, which will be followed by the fireflies who will light up the sky.

OTTO the Helicopter will end the show with his crazy display - usually with fireworks flying off of the aircraft whilst performing aerial stunts!

Closing the show at approximately 22:00 will be a grand firework finale by British Musical Fireworks Champions, Sirotechnics!

The weekend is set to be warm so make sure you wear sun protection (even on Friday evening) and stay hydrated - but more than anything else - enjoy the show!
