In a world of being digital, the love of books is still very real.

A sweet little bookshop in the heart of Southport has just sold a book that has been on the shelf since May 1991!

A children's biography of William the Conqueror was recently purchased from Boradhurst Bookshop off of Lord Street that was put on the shelves 27 years ago!

A simple tweet warmed the hearts of thousands of people across the world and showed how books are still a passion for people everywhere.

With nearly 16,000 retweets, 145,000 likes and hundreds of comments, the tweet went viral globally putting Southport on the twitter map as people rejoyced with joy at the book finally finding a home!

Broadhurst Books, on Market Street, is a well established book shop in Southport, founded in 1906. New and second hand bookshop still wrap books in brown paper and tie with string and has an extensive children's department, of which this book was lovingly homed.

Since the story went viral, they have enjoyed lots of new custom to their store - make it part of your 'to do' list when visiting Southport!
