The Liverpool City Region (LCR) Tourism Awards 2020 recognised a number of deserving businesses across Merseyside this year. Formby Hall Golf Resort and Spa is incredibly proud to have been named Hotel of the Year amid strong competition. The award comes at an unprecedented time with many businesses currently forced to close and has provided a well-deserved boost to the Resort team during this challenging time.

Looking to the future, Formby Hall has many improvements planned across the entire resort with investment to further improve the guest experience, including launching an innovative website, unveiling exciting new menus and enhancing both the driving range and spa facilities. Formby Hall offers a full Resort experience to guests and has truly created a destination for the staycation market, enhanced by collaborations with Liverpool’s many renowned local attractions.

Host of the evening, Jay Hynd, commented, “you have created a destination with the resort and spa, it’s not just a hotel, it’s a fantastic events and conference space as well.”

The Resort is heavily focused on employee engagement and continuous training. Implementing a vision and values strategy, it recognises outstanding performance and ongoing career development to retain stars in the team. Formby Hall takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service and values all customer feedback. Jay Hynd shared the judge’s comments on the winner, ‘an outstanding hotel with a keen eye on customer service, also excellence with customer service, they were particularly impressed with this hotel’s forward vision.’

Andrew Jamieson, General Manager, says:

“It is a huge honour and achievement for Formby Hall Golf Resort & Spa to be announced as the LCR Tourism Awards Hotel of the Year 2020. It would not have been possible without our amazing team and their unwavering hard work, passion and dedication. We would also like to thank all of our loyal members and guests for their continued support. After a challenging year for us all, this achievement has lifted many spirits and made us more excited than ever to reopen our doors and get back to doing what we love best.”

Sue Mooring, Director at Hamilton Hotel Partners, added:

“I am incredibly proud of Formby Hall Golf Resort & Spa’s achievement in being awarded the LCR Tourism Awards Hotel of the Year 2020, especially during these difficult times and against such strong competition. Customer service is critical to our ethos and underpins all we do as an industry, so I am thrilled that the entire team’s exemplary standards in taking care of our guests and members have been recognised in such a manner. We very much look forward to seeing everyone back with us soon to share in this success.”

The Resort is busy getting ready to welcome guests back from the 3 December just in time for Christmas festivities, from a signature festive afternoon tea, relaxing family getaways to spa or golf breaks and bespoke weddings, there is something for everyone. Whilst the doors may be temporarily shut due to government guidelines, Formby is still extending its typically warm welcome to anyone wanting to enquire by telephone or email.
