English Tourism Week
Spring is here in Southport! The mornings are getting lighter, the days brighter, and the flowers are blooming. We’re shaking off the winter blues and enjoying our parks and gardens, high streets, and beaches.
If we close our eyes, we can almost taste the salt and feel the warmth of our first steaming hot fish ‘n’ chips after a brisk walk along Southport Pier.
Springtime in Southport makes our wonderful outdoors irresistible: glorious fresh air on coastal walks and bike rides, spring sunshine picking out the ornate details of our world-beating Victorian architecture, and new flowers lighting up our parks and gardens.
This week, we’re celebrating English Tourism Week in Southport, and what better way to do it than remind ourselves of all the good food that we have to offer.
With over 200 places to eat, Southport is the perfect place for anything from a quick catch-up snack to a romantic lunch a deux, or a lively family reunion dinner.
Whatever your tastes and your budget, we’ve got everything here - exciting world cuisine including Egyptian, Japanese (sushi), Italian, Indian, French, Chinese and much more. We can enjoy big hearty lunches full of flavour, or delicate healthy salads for those of us already getting fit for summer.
We love good food. We love good company. And we love Southport Market. The exciting food and drink venue opened last year, has kept up our spirits during the cold winter months, and is now ready to blossom into spring.
Ready to feed you are ten traders offering: Mexican, pizza, Canadian, Greek, bakery, desserts, pasta, sushi, burgers and hot dogs, and local butchers.
Open from 10am until late the Food Market is a firm favourite for foodies, at the heart of the market quarter.
To support our independent businesses, eat local, drink local, and visit local. You can love Southport like a local.
Our independent restaurants pride themselves on finding the freshest local ingredients to create their dishes with. So, you can stay loyal to local businesses when you visit Southport.
And when you top off your perfect day out by indulging in a delicious pudding…remember you only live once…lick the bowl!
