Love Southport at half term
February Half Term can be a tricky time - Christmas glow over, weather still a bit dicey, finances perhaps taken a hit - so we’re sure you’ll find plenty to love at Southport. From workshops to walks, ballet to bargains, make your plans and find something to love here.
We love the range of activities at our flagship venue, and February half term sees crafts and ballet at The Atkinson, as well as everything else there is to see there. Thursday Feb 16 visit between 11 and 3 for a free Beauty and the Beast themed craft activity. Something for all ages, with plenty of materials to use. And on Friday Feb 17 the magical Beauty And The Beast story will be told in ballet form - click here to make sure you get your tickets.
We love just popping around the corner from The Atkinson to feel the buzz at the Southport Market. Fancy joining the circus? Try out your skills at the FREE Circus Workshop! Young chefs - or just young pizza lovers - can visit on Feb 15 for a pizza making workshop with 600 Degrees. And Feb 19 visit for a fantastic morning rave - celebrating mums at the My Mummy Is A Star dance-up.. Events can be booked here - tickets will go fast!
We love a day out that doesn’t break the bank and a proper old fashioned seaside town like Southport is perfect for one of these. Running on the sand, strolling along the prom, exploring the parks, all these are perfect for families and only cost steps. And when you’re done strolling, warming up with a hot drink is a lovely way to finish a day out - one that won’t break the bank. These are great Grandparent and Grandchildren expeditions too. Maybe Grandad can pay for the fish and chips too.
And if the children have pocket money burning a hole in their pockets then all the family can enjoy a stroll around our shops to see what treasures can be found. Good old fashioned window shopping is something we love in Southport too.
We love a good family bike ride and the miles of paths along the prom are perfect places to perfect those skills, chat and have a lovely afternoon. And if you love long walks in the trees and spotting wildlife then don’t forget to make plans to visit the National Trust’s Formby Wood and keep your eyes peeled for a Red Squirrel.
We love everything you can get up to on a Southport Half Term - make your plans, book your tickets, collect the brood and come for a visit.
