Family Time this Summer

Southport is the perfect retreat for the whole family. Immerse yourself by trying our flavours of ice cream, explore the nature living in the rolling dunes or simply make memories by building sandcastles on the beach.

Enjoy the thrills of the fair – big rides, small rides and plenty of areas to play will make sure everybody is entertained.

There’s no shortage of family activities - whatever your flavour, Southport has it all!

Day 1

Morning

First stop, Southport beach. Grab your bucket and spade, dig your feet into the sand; wade in the calm water and enjoy the seaside.

Fancy an ice cream? Southport has so many flavours - in fact we even created our own Southport 'Foam Shrimp' ice cream to celebrate the summer. A walk along the pier will reveal a few spots to pick up any flavour you desire!

Take a stroll over to the outdoor Model Railway Village the kids will love the miniature landscapes, gardens and trains.

Afternoon

After a fun packed morning, tummies are rumbling - grab some fish 'n' chips and find your perfect spot to stop and enjoy!

Hop skip and jump down to Pleasureland - take on the thrills of the rollercoaster and laugh together getting drenched on the log flume - small rides, big rides - there is something for everyone and entry is free so if you don't want to ride, you don't have to pay.

Evening

Wind down the evening with a nice family meal in one of our independent restaurants - and if we are lucky with the British weather you may even dine alfresco style!

Finish the evening at Ocean Plaza where you can chill at the cinema or burn off more energy with a game of bowling.

Day 2

Morning

After breakfast start the day with summer activities at The Atkinson. They have free things to do all through the summer holidays - from craft workshops to discovering ancient Egypt in the museum - there is plenty for those little minds to absorb.

Mid morning you could head to nearby Ainsdale to explore the sand dunes - the kids will love spotting all the wildlife and insects amongst the dunes and it is an ideal place to fly a kite.

Afternoon

Grab a spot of lunch and then walk it off around Southport Marine Lake - crazy golf, King’s Gardens play area, swan pedalos, speed boats - what ever thrill you seek - you can find it right here.

Grab a little pick me up for yourselves mid afternoon with a cup of tea and slice of cake in their tea room or a refreshing ice cream!

Evening

Walk along the Promenade where you will find many great family restaurants - sit outside and take in the coastal views and enjoy the great value local produce.

Or dine on Lord Street, independent restaurants serve up tasty dishes with the finest local ingredients – we have plenty of family friendly places to eat.

After dinner a walk along the promenade or beach is a good way to end the evening, or a family friendly show at the Southport Theatre or The Atkinson before heading back and collapsing in your room - exhausted from two full days of activity!

Whatever your flavour - Southport has it all!
