Walking and Cycling are great ways to get closer to the fantastic array of flora and fauna found on Sefton's Natural Coast. The suggested trails below are designed to help visitors discover the interesting places on offer by foot and/or bike:
- Southport Seaside Stroll
- Hesketh Park to Marshside RSPB Reserve
- Churchtown & the Botanic Gardens Walk
- Cheshire Lines Path
- The Sefton Coastal Path
- Maghull to Aintree
- Crosby Cycle Route
- Around and about Ince Blundell
- Thornton & Little Crosby Walk
- Formby Walks
- The Lydiate Loop
- From Coast to Countryside
- Meanders around Melling
- Sefton Village and the Meadows
- Netherton to Crosby Marine Park
All the trails are clearly signposted and suitable for all ages and abilities. However, as with all outdoor activities, please take sensible precautions against our unpredictable weather and carry waterproof clothing and wear suitable shoes. If travelling by bike, make sure that your bike is properly maintained and wear a protective helmet at all times.
Many of the trails are public rights of way over farmland or through the many nature reserves on Sefton's Natural Coast, so please observe the Countryside Code and leave only your footprints.
Alternatively you can download the Walking and Cycling Guide for a full comprehensive listing of walks and cycle routes in the area.
