Students from Southport College recreated the logo for the Food & Drink Festival, Monday 12th May on Southport beach. Press and the public flocked to Southport Pier for a perfect view of the PR stunt, that saw the logo immortalised in tomatoes supplied by local prducers, Flavourfresh. The logo was a staggering 10m x 4m.

The official lauch party for the Festival takes place tonight at Wayfarers Arcade. Ticket holders only.

Celebrity Chef, Michael Caines will officially open the Festival on Thursday 15 May at the Celbrate Southport Pavilion.

The Southport Food and Drink Festival is back for the second year, after the roaring success of year one...... AND, before the festival kicks off on the 15th, we have a series of Festival Warmup events to tantalise you....

The festival will start on Thursday 15th May with Breakfast Wraps and Bacon Butties in the Festival Pavilion, then will proceed to a full four days of packed entertainment, including a full Ale Trail, Local Producers and Continental Markets and a host of cooking demonstrations featuring different cuisines. There is food and drink to be sampled, outdoor BBQ's and plenty of restaurant offers, this is a weekend not to be missed!

With an amazing atmosphere, you can spend your time strolling around Southport's streets, soaking up the fine wine and local produce, and best of all, most of it is FREE!

Start with the warm up event at Mulligans on Tuesday 13th May, by watching Southport's best bar staff battle it out with a Flair competition, see page 26 for details. Or you can be a VIP at the Launch Party, held at Wayfarers Arcade, in the evening. It is by invitation only so enter online to win tickets.
