Some of our Event Highlights

Sefton's Landscape Partnership

The Sefton’s Natural Coast Landscape Partnership Scheme is an opportunity to make new discoveries and enhance the Sefton Coast for all through a range of projects and events.

We update our pages, particularly What's On and News, as regularly as possible so keep coming back.  Also, Facebook and Twitter are a great way of keeping in touch as we keep these updated when we are out and about on the coast.

Habitats and wildlife will continue to be conserved and managed ensuring their legacy and enjoyment for future generations.

The sands come and go, and have done throughout time, meaning there always has been and always will be change here on the coast. This is a chance to understand how the landscape has changed and how it may look in the future.

What histories lay undiscovered here on the Coast? The sands hide many secrets of days gone by - historic settlements, remnants of war and wildlife of the past. It’s not just the sand that hides our past - many of you have fantastic stories, memories and images hidden away too.  If so, why not set up and run your own project using our community fund.

Our existing network of footpaths, cycle paths and trails are here to be discovered, some will be improved whilst new ones will be created. The Coastal Trails Project is split between the development of existing trails through the Ainsdale & Birkdale Sand Hills and the creation of a new Nature Trail at Crosby. Ainsdale Link Path has improved access from the Ainsdale LNR to the Ainsdale NNR. Construction of a new boardwalk round West End Pond on the Ainsdale Sand Dunes NNR linking to the new Information Centre will increase access to areas of woodland and sand dune..

We want you to know about all these things, by providing more and better information, varied sources of this information; leaflets, posters, web pages, facebook, twitter, information boards, downloadable visual and audio resources, the list is endless. If paper and technology are not your thing, then join in, wherever your interests lie – conservation, wildlife, history or landscape interpretation you can be involved. Training, volunteering and educational opportunities will be vast and varied and developed throughout the project.
