Looking for an unforgettable family day out this August Bank Holiday? Southport Air Show 2026 returns to Southport seafront on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th August, bringing world-class flying displays, interactive attractions, military exhibits, children's activities and loads more.

 

With the world-famous RAF Red Arrows flying on both days, under 16s going FREE, and lots to enjoy both in the skies and on the ground, here's why Southport Air Show should be on your August Bank Holiday must-do list.

 

1. See the spectacular RAF Red Arrows

One of Britain's most iconic display teams, the RAF Red Arrows return to Southport Air Show for 2026, performing on both Saturday and Sunday.

Known for their precision flying, dramatic formations and colourful smoke trails, the Red Arrows are always a highlight of the weekend. Did you know? Southport Air Show is set to be the Red Arrows' only public display appearance in the North West this summer, making it even more special to see the team here on the Sefton Coast.

 

2. Watch aviation legends take to the skies

The Red Arrows may be the headline act, but they're far from the only attraction in the flying programme.

Throughout the weekend, visitors can enjoy an impressive line-up featuring the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, the RAF Typhoon, Aerosuperbatics Wingwalkers, Hawk T1, Gazelle Squadron, Rich Goodwin's Jet Pitts, The Starlings, Strikemaster, Otto Helicopter Display Team, the Douglas A-26 Invader and the iconic P-51 Mustang, alongside several other exciting displays.

 

3. Explore the Military Village

The popular Military Village gives visitors the opportunity to get up close to military vehicles and equipment, meet members of the Armed Forces and discover more about military history.

Highlights include a Replica Chinook Helicopter, the RAF Typhoon Display Team stand, restored military vehicles from the Mid Lancs Military Vehicle Trust, Second World War displays from the Garrison Artillery Volunteers and the fascinating Veterans Living History Museum.

 

4. Keep the kids entertained all day

There's plenty for younger visitors to enjoy between flying displays.

From bungee trampolines and bumper cars to face glitter stations, hair braiding, Hook a Duck, interactive exhibits and flight simulators, there are activities running throughout the day to keep children entertained. Combined with the flying displays overhead, it's easy to make a full day of it.

 

5. Have a go in the flight simulators

Ever wondered what it's like to sit in the cockpit?

The popular flight simulators give visitors the chance to experience the thrill of flying for themselves, making them one of the event's most popular hands-on attractions.

 

6. Browse unique stalls on Marine Drive

Take a stroll along Marine Drive and discover a wide variety of food & drink traders and market stalls selling everything from aviation artwork and military memorabilia to toys, sweets, collectables and unique gifts.

It's a great place to pick up a souvenir and explore even more of what the Air Show has to offer.
