Southport Weather
Southport is a great place to visit whatever the time of year. Hot, sunny days are just made for relaxing on the beach or strolling along the pier with an ice cream.
Autumn is a wonderful time to visit our many wonderful parks and woodlands - Formby's Red Squirrel Reserve, managed by National Trust, looks gorgeous when the leaves have turned golden and are crunchy under your boots!
When it's a bit too cold or wet to be wandering around outside, there's still plenty to do in Southport! The Atkinson, British Lawn Mower Museum, Puzzology Escape Rooms... check out our guide to the top ten things to do on a rainy day.
Southport has its own micro climate so it's always best to check the weather forecast before you travel. The latest Southport weather information can be found on the BBC weather website.
Stay Beach Safe
With 22-miles of coastline, Sefton has a variety of beaches to explore stretching from Crosby to Southport. We want you to have lots of fun when you visit us and go home with plenty of happy memories of your trip.
If you're planning to visit one of our beaches we always advise checking the tide times before setting off. Tide times and heights vary throughout the month, so a beach that was clear at midday yesterday might well be fully submerged at the same time today! Beach forecasts and tide times can be found on the Met Office website.
It's famous local myth that you can't see the sea from Southport. Whilst the tide rarely comes right up to the promenade, Southport beach has tides just like any other beach and it's important to understand the dangers of being caught out by the rising water. The RNLI do amazing work along the Sefton Coast, and their website is packed with information on how to stay safe.
