Thank you for supporting the 2018 Southport Air Show

The amazing Red Arrows opened the show on Friday night with their breath-taking display which shows exactly why they are the ambassadors for the Royal Air Force. The evening continued with fireworks and LED lights on planes and a massive firework finale.

On Saturday and Sunday the sun was shining and visitors enjoyed Southport beach and the weather. Families could be seen sun bathing, building sandcastles and enjoy the displays overhead from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, aerobatics from many display teams and the crazy Tigers Army Parachute Display Team throwing themselves out of a plane!

On Saturday there was a big screen showing the England v Sweden game so visitors didn't miss out on the big game. And shortly after the event closed the Red Bull Matadors came back and drew the result with smoke in the sky!

And the optimism for the England Team was seen very early on at the Southport Air Show when the Tigers did their jump in England shirts they captured our sand art created with a huge tractor in-between the flight line the pilots use.

On Sunday the show closed when the Typhoon soared across Southport and set off car alarms across Southport. This jet is tested to its MAX by pilot Jim Peterson in the 8 minute display, which uses approximately 4500 litres of fuel and Southport just loved it!
