Over the last few weeks hundreds of people have been voting for their favourite ‘Hidden Gem’ as part of the Liverpool City Region’s Tourism Awards.
Lots of places were nominated including tours, restaurants or natural beauty spots, highlighted as much-loved assets that are not so well-known just because they’re off the main tourist trail.
Six businesses from Southport made it through to the final; Cranberry’s Café Southport, Silcocks Carousel, Southport Bijou Cinema, Tik Taco, The Eden Warehouse & Sunnyside Guest House.
Former England hockey player turned broadcaster Sam Quek was the host for the evening in front of hundreds of guests at Liverpool Cathedral.
Southport businesses did our town proud and we walked away with two amazing awards!
