Explore the Coast
Southport lies on the Northwest coast which is one the most beautiful and extensive coastlines.
Over 22 miles it stretches from Crosby Beach and coastal park right up to Southport and a bit beyond.
On Crosby Beach stands the art installation 'Another Place' by Antony Gormley, a 100 iron life size statues starring out to sea.
Formby Beach is one of the most beautiful on the coastline and on a hot summers day can feel like you are abroad. Extensive views are to be soaked up once you clamber through the natural dunes.
While visiting Formby you can also explore the pine woods and see if you can spot a red squirrel! Nature really comes together in this haven with woods, dunes, sand and sea.
Time for adventure
Ainsdale Beach is the hot spot for water activities such as kite surfing and more. The beautiful landscape and wide open space makes it an ideal place.
Up to Southport where you can walk the pier, search out wildlife or enjoy fish n' chips and building sandcastles.
Explore the dunes
The sand dunes all along the coastline is home to numerous species and plants. It is one of the largest dunes systems in the UK so you could spend the day walking or cycling through and seeing what you can spot.
This year we are also celebrating the Year of the Coast so there will be plenty more events and activities taking place all through the year.
Southport isn't just a seaside town, it is a canvas to explore, relax and enjoy.
