Then she'll do some live drawing of everyone's favourite characters, and finish with a draw-along centred on The Tooth Fairy and the Crocodile.

Lydia Monks
Lydia Monks is a bestselling illustrator and author of children’s books. Among them are her many collaborations with author Julia Donaldson, including The Singing Mermaid, Princess Mirror-Belle and the What the Ladybird Heard series, which has sold over 4 million copies worldwide and has been translated into 25 different languages. Lydia has won many awards including, the Smarties Award, the Royal Mail Scottish Children’s Book Award, the Stockport Children’s Book Award, Nielsen Gold Bestseller Award, the Big Red Book Award, the Pan Mac Award and the IBBY Award for Illustration. She lives in Sheffield.

Children’s Books North Network (CBNN) connects and supports published children’s writers, illustrators and publishing professionals living in the North of England and Scotland. They have over 450 members and promote their members' work, new books and events. Additionally, CBNN highlights the importance of regional diversity in children’s books and the wider industry. CBNN partners with festivals, universities, bookshops and libraries to support and celebrate creatives in the North of England and Scotland. In 2025, the Network announced the Children’s Books North Prize for aspiring picture book writers and illustrators based in the North of England. The network was co-founded in 2020 by Tilda Johnson, Emma Layfield and Liz Scott. Emma now leads the network with Beatrice Cross and Bethany Sparks.
